About the skit
The youth group serves dinner at a downtown shelter once a month. Lynn reads Mark 10:45 before the doors open, Mr. Hollis sets one rule (“No pictures of guests”), and Caleb, who is only filming himself, starts on his video about humility: low angle, steam, ladle in front. His first humble face looks sad, his second looks like a toothpaste ad, and the woman at the front of the line keeps getting asked to take the plate again.
Rhonda has had enough, and she says so plainly. Nobody steps in to tell Caleb what to do next, and the choice he makes is the turn of the skit. It rests on the half of Mark 10:45 that wouldn’t fit in his caption: Jesus came to give His life a ransom for many.
Two teens and three adults, about 5–6 minutes and one rehearsal. It fits a youth night during Holy Week or a Sunday before a serving project. The staging notes cover playing Rhonda as a regular woman and never as a lesson, name badges the congregation can read, and keeping every laugh on the filming.

LYNN: Okay, before doors open. Verse for today. Mark 10:45. (reading) "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." (closing the Bible) A ransom is the price you pay to set somebody free. Jesus paid with His life. For people who could never pay Him back.
NOAH: (low, to CALEB) That's your caption.
CALEB: Half of it. "Not to be ministered unto, but to minister." The rest won't fit.
LYNN: (not looking up) The rest is the part where He pays.
(NOAH and CALEB carry on as if they didn't hear.)
NOAH: Put "blessed" after it.
CALEB: Obviously "blessed."
MR. HOLLIS: Welcome, youth group. Gloves stay on. One scoop each. If anybody asks for seconds, the answer is yes. (beat) And one rule in my dining room. No pictures of guests.
CALEB: I'm only filming me.
(MR. HOLLIS looks at him for a long second. Then he turns to LYNN.)
MR. HOLLIS: Every youth group that comes through here, somebody films the ladle.
LYNN: He's a good kid.
MR. HOLLIS: They're all good kids. (calling off to the side) Two minutes!
(LYNN sets the Bible down, moves to the far right end of the table and gets busy with the stack of plates there. CALEB hands NOAH his phone. NOAH holds it up, filming CALEB.)
CALEB: (to the phone) Hey, guys. So today our youth group is serving dinner at the shelter. Because that's what Jesus did.
NOAH: Cut. More energy.
CALEB: (huge) Hey, guys!
NOAH: Less energy.
CALEB: (medium) Hey, guys.
NOAH: Perfect. We'll fix it later.
